Legislation has been introduced in both chambers of Congress that would allow occupational therapists to perform the initial OASIS assessment when starting a case. The bill, the Medicare Home Health Flexibility Act (S.1725/H.R.3127), was introduced by Senators Young (R-IN) and Cardin (D-MD), and Representatives Doggett (D-TX), Smith (R-MO), Tonko (D-NY), and McKinley (R-WV).
HCAF commends these lawmakers for their leadership on behalf of the industry and advancing access to Medicare-funded home health care. Stay tuned for advocacy opportunities to encourage your lawmakers to support these bills!
