Managing Incontinence in the Home Care Setting

When it comes to incontinence, revolutionary products for caregivers and end users are now available. Women have ways to effectively manage urinary incontinence when current methods like adult diapers, absorbent pads, and indwelling catheters cause unwanted conditions such as dermatitis and UTIs. Currently used in over 2000 hospital in the country, the Purewick system, which has been seeing increasing demand with patients utilizing from hospital to the home, will be discussed.
Meet the Speakers
Meredith Cole is a clinical nurse manager for Becton Dickinson. Meredith comes with over 26 years experience in the medical field. Meredith has a BSN from Seton Hall University. Prior to joining Becton Dickinson's urology segment, she worked as a floor nurse, outpatient urology clinic nurse, and case manager for the prestigious Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation. Over the past two years, she has been working with transitioning patients from the hospital to the home within urology, wound care, and ostomy. Her diverse background of clinical and home care experience has been vital as a valuable resource to patients and families all over the east coast.
Paul Pesca is a National Account Manager for CR Bard, a global manufacturer in urological and incontinence products, and Becton Dickinson company. Paul manages the extended care/Home Care channel for Purewick FEC as well as the urological category. Over the last year and a half, Paul and a team of four individuals have helped market Purewick into facilities and to caregivers to provide a state of the art system to help women with incontinence. Through the success of this product, they have seen better patient outcomes, care, and efficiency.
