OVERVIEW

It’s been over a year since home care providers were to have fully implemented the emergency preparedness requirements, and unfortunately, what a year it has been! In 2018, the U.S. experienced the deadliest wildfire in California and the worst hurricane to hit the east coast since 1969.

For Florida Panhandle providers that are still working to recover from Hurricane Michael, free registration will be available to you. Please select the Bill Me option on the payment screen and we will waive your fee.

We encourage you to interact with attendees and share:

  • How did your agency fare?
  • Did you implement your emergency preparedness plan?
  • What lessons did you learn?

If you were lucky to have been spared hurricane-related damage:

  • How would your agency have fared?
  • Would your emergency preparedness plan have worked?
  • What lessons should you have learned from others?

In the midst of an emergency is not the time to review and revise your agency’s plan. Now is the time to do it in order to ensure you are meeting the mandatory requirements and, more importantly, to ensure your plan is the most reliable it can be in the event that you to activate it in 2019.

This program will provide 1.0 continuing education unit for skilled nursing, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.
