Interested in providing private duty services and just don’t know where to start? Regulations for certified agencies are very different than regulations for private duty. Most administrators of certified agencies are so used to the heavily restrictive federal regulations, they just can’t wrap their brains around what does and doesn’t apply to private duty. Join HCAF’s Director of Private Duty Services for a half-day workshop and learn all about the options you have with your current license, as well as the big differences in regulations.
- Explain the pros and cons of providing private duty services with a certified license;
- Describe detailed information about every option currently available to providers;
- Learn step-by-step ways of opening a licensed-only agency;
- Discuss current Department of Labor and Wage & Hour Laws to be sure you don’t fall victim to a joint employer issue;
- And more!
Kristen Wheeler is the Home Care Association of Florida’s Director of Private Duty Services. Prior to joining HCAF, Kristen spent more than 10 years in private duty home care in Florida. Initially, she launched a private duty department for a certified agency, then eventually opened a licensed-only, non-clinical home health agency. Kristen came to work with HCAF in the summer of 2016 and enjoys sharing her experiences from her agency days with others.
This program will provide three (3) contact hours to nurses, occupational therapists and speech therapists.
