Please join the Home Care Association of Florida, the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC), and industry advocates from across the nation on March 23-24, 2020 for the annual March on Washington to make our voices heard in the halls of Congress. Lending your voice to ours is the key to our shared success.
On the evening of Monday, March 23, NAHC will host a Welcome Reception & Policy Briefing on current legislative issues impacting home care. This year’s reception and briefing will be held at the Kaiser Permanente Center for Total Health, a futuristic learning destination featuring some of the most impressively immersive health-related displays and exhibits in America. It is located a short walk from Union Station, amidst some of the best hotels and restaurants in the city. Attendees are highly encouraged to attend this informative reception in order to be familiarized with and prepared to meet with congressional offices.
On Tuesday, March 24, participants will meet with members of Congress and congressional staff to discuss the home health industry's legislative priorities. HCAF staff will arrange congressional meetings. No prior advocacy experience is necessary, and advocates will be assigned to a group with an experienced leader. More information about specific legislation will be provided in the coming days and will focus on reforming Medicare's Patient-Driven Groupings Model (PDGM), allowing non-physician practitioners to certify a patient’s eligibility for home health services, and extending rural add-on payments.
We look forward to having you join us in Washington, DC where we’ll be beside you every step of the way and will provide you the tools you need to make your day of advocacy on Capitol Hill a tremendous success.
