The Home Care Association of Florida is requesting proposals from interested Certified Public Accounting firms who are qualified under Florida state and federal laws and regulations to perform a financial and compliance audit and prepare the related tax services. All proposals should be emailed by April 1.

HCAF is looking for a firm to prepare and complete the Association’s annual audit of financial information. The proposal should include an estimate of the hours required for the engagement and the proposed fee including any additional potential fees.

HCAF expects to be given a list of items, such as reports and documentation, to prepare in advance of the onsite portion of the audit in order to minimize the time and expense for remote staff to be onsite for the audit. It is expected that during the onsite portion of the audit that additional specific items will be requested for testing purposes. The audit deliverable for HCAF shall include issuance of a letter of assurance to our Board of Directors (“Management Letter”) outlining any issues with the audit or major internal accounting controls, along with the audited financial statements.

HCAF is seeking engagement with the selected firm to begin in the Spring of 2018, in anticipation of the preparation and completion of the audit of the Association for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2018. We are looking for the audit to be conducted in September 2018, and for the report to be completed before the end of the same month.

In addition, HCAF is hoping that the same firm can prepare and complete all required federal and state income tax filings on time, including analysis of lobbying expenses. These filings are to include but are not limited to the IRS Forms 990 and 990T, and state of Florida Form F1120, as well as completion of any other adjunct tax filings necessary to comply with federal and state tax laws. Again, proposals should include an estimate of the expected and potential fees for these services.
